Lawmakers in several US states are contemplating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/deeplinks\/2025\/11\/lawmakers-want-ban-vpns-and-they-have-no-idea-what-theyre-doing\">banning VPNs<\/a>, because\u2026think of the children!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>As of this writing, Wisconsin lawmakers are escalating their war on privacy by targeting VPNs in the name of \u201cprotecting children\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2025\/proposals\/reg\/asm\/bill\/AB105\">A.B. 105<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2025\/proposals\/sb130\">S.B. 130<\/a>. It\u2019s an age verification bill that requires all websites distributing material that could conceivably be deemed \u201csexual content\u201d to both implement an age verification system and also to block the access of users connected via VPN.
