Anthropic Extends Claude Fable 5 Access From July 12 to July 19

Anthropic has extended promotional access to Claude Fable 5 until July 19, 2026, giving eligible paid subscribers more time to use the company’s newest AI model at no additional charge.

The offer was previously scheduled to end earlier. However, Anthropic confirmed that access will now remain available through PM Pacific Time on July 19.

The promotion applies to Claude Pro, Max, and Team subscribers, as well as premium seats on eligible seat-based Enterprise plans.

It also extends the temporary increase in weekly Claude Code usage limits through the same deadline.

Free-plan users, standard Enterprise seats, usage-based Enterprise customers, and API users are not included in the offer. During the promotional period, users can spend up to their weekly subscription usage allowance on Claude Fable 5.

The model does not add new usage capacity to a plan. Instead, its requests draw on the same weekly quota as other Claude models, and Anthropic warns that Fable 5 consumes it faster than some alternatives.

For example, a subscriber who has already used half of their weekly allowance on other Claude models will have only the remaining half available.

Although Fable 5 can account for up to of the weekly limit, users cannot exceed the overall weekly limit assigned to their plan.

Anthropic said there is no activation process, opt-in button, or promotional code required. Eligible customers can select “Fable 5” through the model picker in Claude’s web, desktop, and mobile applications.

The model is also available in Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Claude Design, Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude for Teams, and Claude Tag.

Claude Code users must update to version or later to access the model. Claude Cowork users need the latest Claude Desktop release.

Enterprise administrators may also control whether Fable 5 is visible in managed Claude Code deployments, meaning users may need to contact their organization’s administrator if the model is unavailable.

Once a user reaches the Fable 5 portion of their weekly usage allowance, they have two options. They can switch to another Claude model and continue using any remaining plan quota, or keep using Fable 5 with usage credits.

Usage credits are billed separately from the customer’s subscription and automatically apply if enabled after the model-specific limit is reached.

The extension creates a longer testing window for security teams, developers, and enterprise users evaluating Fable 5 for code analysis, documentation, research workflows, and automation tasks.

However, organizations should monitor consumption closely because the promotion does not remove existing quota restrictions.

Legacy seat-based Enterprise customers receive different access based on seat type. Premium seats receive promotional access to Fable 5 as part of their existing subscription through July 19.

Standard seats do not receive free promotional access and require organization-enabled usage credits for all Fable 5 activity.

After July 19, Claude Fable 5 will no longer count as included promotional access within weekly subscription limits.

Users who want to continue using the model will need usage credits, while API access remains billed at Anthropic’s standard rates throughout the promotion.
