Anthropic Extends Free Access to Claude Fable 5 on All Paid Plans

Anthropic has extended promotional access to its newest AI model, Claude Fable 5, allowing subscribers on paid plans to use it at no additional cost through July 12, 2026, at 11:59:59 PM PT.

The company confirmed the extension in an official announcement, stating it is “extending access to Claude Fable 5 on all paid plans through July 12”.

The promotional access applies to users on Pro, Max, Team, and premium seats on seat-based Enterprise plans where the feature has been enabled by their organization.

During this period, subscribers can use up to 50% of their weekly subscription limits on Claude Fable 5 without incurring extra charges, since the model draws from the plan’s regular weekly usage allocation but consumes it at a faster rate than other Claude models.

Anthropic has clarified that there is nothing users need to claim or activate to benefit from this offer, as it is automatically applied to eligible accounts.

Claude Fable 5 is accessible across a wide range of Anthropic’s products, including Claude on the web, Claude Mobile, Claude Desktop, Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Claude Design, Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude for Teams, and Claude Tag.

Users on the web, desktop, and mobile apps can select “Fable 5” directly from the model picker, while those using Claude Code must be running version 2.1.170 or later to access the model.

According to Anthropic, once a user exhausts 50% of their weekly usage limit on Fable 5, they have two options: continue using the model by drawing on separately billed usage credits, or switch to another Claude model to remain within their existing plan limits.

After the promotional window closes on July 12, Claude Fable 5 will no longer be included within standard weekly usage limits, and continued access will require usage credits.

The offer does not extend to standard seats on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans, usage-based Enterprise plans, or API-based access, which remains billed at standard rates.

For organizations on legacy seat-based Enterprise plans, premium seat holders retain promotional access through the extended deadline at no extra cost, while standard seat users can only access Fable 5 if their organization has separately enabled usage credits.

This extension gives users additional time to explore Fable 5’s capabilities before usage credit billing becomes necessary for continued high-volume use.
