These fake pages promise something millions of players desperately want: early access to GTA 6 before its official release. The offers sound tempting, but every single one is fraudulent, and victims who pay almost never see their money again.

The scam follows a clear playbook. A user stumbles upon a site through an ad, a social media post, or a comment section link claiming to sell “VIP Early Access” or an “Exclusive Early Access Preview” to GTA 6.

The site looks polished and professional, complete with neon Vice City artwork, GTA 6 logos, luxury cars, and glamorous AI-generated images. In one documented case, the asking price was $250, payable only in Bitcoin, USDT, or Ethereum.

Analysts at Malwarebytes identified and examined one such site, noting how convincing the experience is built to feel.

According to Malwarebytes report shared with Cyber Security News (CSN), after a user sends the cryptocurrency payment, they are instructed to enter their transaction ID to “unlock” the download.

The page shows QR codes, payment verification messages, and a large DOWNLOAD button, but no game ever arrives.

What makes these scams especially damaging is that cryptocurrency payments cannot be reversed. There is no chargeback process, no fraud department to contact, and no recourse once the money is sent.

GTA 6 is not available from anyone outside Rockstar Games, meaning these sites have nothing to deliver and never did.

The timing of this scam wave is no accident. GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated game releases in history, with GTA 5 having launched in September 2013 and the sequel now set for November 19, 2026.

By the time a user reaches the payment step, the emotional momentum is already working against them.

The choice to accept only cryptocurrency is a deliberate part of this scam. It removes the financial safety nets that protect buyers in ordinary transactions.

While crypto payments are more familiar to gamers now, that familiarity is exactly what scammers count on to make the request feel normal.

How to Stay Safe From These Scams

One clear fact is enough to protect anyone from a GTA 6 early-access scam: no website outside Rockstar Games can legally offer the game before its release.

Rockstar has confirmed that official pre-orders begin on June 25 through authorized digital storefronts and select retailers, with no early access being offered anywhere else.

Researchers advise treating any “exclusive access” offer found in ads, social posts, or comment sections with real skepticism. Any deal that demands cryptocurrency payment is a warning sign on its own.
